The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is investigating several reported examples of Google allowing ads from “predatory lenders”. The findings follow a report published in the Observer on Sunday which found that 24 advertisements had been paid for by 12 advertisers, including loan companies and credit brokers.

Google’s stated practices Prevent the sale of financial services-related ads that do not disclose information about repayment terms or other potential harms to borrowers. It specifically cites failure to disclose associated fees as something prohibited, noting, “Disclosures may not be published as hover text or made available through any other link or tab. They should be clearly and immediately visible without the need to click or hover over anything.

It also cites failure to include links to any third-party accreditation or endorsement where affiliation is stated or implied with the terms of the loan-related advertisement. This veneer of legitimacy — and Google’s efforts to prevent loan providers from making false associations with real organizations — were partly behind the search giant’s efforts to stamp out the practice in 2016.

Commercials reported by the Observer included one that offered ultra-high interest rates of up to 1,721%.

The vendors’ marketing techniques – especially messages related to how quickly money will be available – appear to run counter to Google’s policies. Following the Observer report, the Guardian found that many of the same companies were running similar adverts despite Google removing the initial adverts. In 2020, Google removed 123 million ads related to violations of its financial services policies.

The ASA has concrete guidelines against predatory lending advertising and has enforced them across a wide range of advertising mediums. Its financial services rules information page points out that it has upheld the investigation into a Sunny Loans ad on the grounds that it may mislead consumers about repayment terms.

The problem is exacerbated online due to the speed and reach with which digital advertisers can reach consumers. The ASA said that while responsibility for ensuring ads do not violate the guidelines rests with the advertiser, media platforms such as Google “also have some responsibility for ensuring content complies with the guidelines. rules”. A spokesperson told the Guardian: “Platforms should and are taking steps to ensure misleading and irresponsible ads are not published.”

When Gucci first introduced the canvas, it featured a mosaic of brown diamonds, woven into a beige hemp fabric, known as the Gucci Diamante print.

Since then, the house has released new iterations, each time merging more fashionable and contemporary designs with the original. In 2021, the Japanese manga character Doraemon was featured on signature t-shirts, bucket hats and bags in an exclusive collection. And just last month, Gucci launched yet another decorative motif — featuring a pineapple flanked by roses — as a defining element of its diverse and colorful menswear collection.

The Gucci Pineapple collection sees the flavors of collegiate aesthetics mingle with streetwear influences in a palette of pastels, complemented by deeper shades of blue and green. The ready-to-wear range includes looks in classic gingham prints, as well as formalwear and tracksuits enriched with a patch bearing the number “22,705”, which is the number of song lyrics that include a reference at Gucci.

The vast collection also includes a straight coat in washed gabardine, a printed caban jacket and two bomber jackets in contrasting colors. The series’ lighthearted vibe is further enhanced by the pineapple-pink and “22,705” patches.

Elsewhere, you can find a selection of all-new GG jumbo denim styles, as well as wool and cotton-based knits, and casual pieces, all featuring the pineapple and rose jacquard pattern in various combinations. The sets can be coordinated with matching pants in various colors and textiles.

What is a Gucci collection if it is not complemented by complementary accessories? A wide range of bags, small leather goods and signature sneakers such as Screener, Rhython and Gucci Basket follow the ready-to-wear pieces. These use a printed pattern of pineapples and a bright yellow rose, creating a bold juxtaposition with the GG Supreme canvas base.

Although the composition of the exuberant patches and patterns is different, a distinctive blue-red stripe and pink “WHATʼS INSIDE” text ties these accessories together, providing an added playful and unexpected appeal.

With Gucci’s continued commitment to sustainability, the house has used solvent-free coatings for the GG Supreme canvas with the pineapple motif. Details and prints in organic cotton are created by digital printing using water-based colors. From the looks of the pieces, Gucci seems adept at creating extravagant designs, without neglecting the health of our planet.

iPhone 13 trade-in offers

It is undeniable that the prices are high. Fortunately, Apple offers trade-in deals to keep costs down.

Apple is offering between £35/$110 and £610/$790 off an iPhone 13 handset with trade-in. You can trade in handsets as old as the iPhone 6s. While UK customers can only trade in iPhone devices, US customers can also trade in Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to Note 20, S8 to S20+, Google Pixel 3a to Pixel 5 and LG G8 ThinQ, LG V40 ThinQ to LGV60 phones. ThinQ 5G. .

If you spread the cost of the phone on a monthly basis, Apple will reduce the monthly amount. If you pay in full, Apple will credit your payment method for the trade-in value after we receive your old device. You should receive the iPhone 13 handset within 14 days if your old handset meets all trade-in requirements.

In the United States, Apple also offers exchange offers with network operators that offer a $200 credit. If you opt for AT&T or Verizon, you’ll need to redeem directly through Apple online or in-store. If you opt for T-Mobile/Sprint, you will also need to change your plan to Magenta Max with T-Mobile/Sprint. In addition to Apple’s $200, activating the new handset can reduce monthly line rental costs by an additional $500.

Head over to Apple US to see its network takeover offers:

What’s new in iPhone 13 phones?

While the 5G handsets look quite similar to phones in the iPhone 12 lineup, the upgrade introduces a few key changes.

The iPhone 13 and 13 mini both offer new Super Retina XDR displays that are 28 per cent brighter than the previous generation, peaking at 1200 nits – although Apple manages to make them more energy efficient too.

Under the hood, both phones offer the all-new A15 Bionic chip, moving up from the A14 in the iPhone 12. The A15 offers a 6-core processor (2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores) and a GPU to 4 cores, enabling phones to run up to “50% faster than the competition”. You can also expect better battery life. (You’ll also find the A15 on the brand new iPad mini – this is where you can buy one)

As for the cameras, the iPhone 13 and 13 mini offer better low-light performance with support for Smart HDR 4. There is also a new Photographic Styles feature that allows users to save photo settings while a new cinematic video mode allows users to record with shallow depth of field in 1080p (30fps quality).

The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max bring additional features (that is, including those that the 13 and 13 mini bring to the table). For starters, both offer adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. The new camera lenses also introduce larger apertures, while optical zoom extends up to 6x (compared to 4x on the iPhone 12). The 13 Pro and 13 Pro also run on the A15 Bionic chip, but with 5 GPU cores for super-fast graphics.

We’ve only scratched the surface of the specs and features of the iPhone 13 lineup, check out our in-depth review of the full iPhone 13 lineup for everything there is to know about the phones. If you missed Apple’s launch event, here’s everything announced.

February 9, 2022

Sigma has announced the ultra-compact, wide-aperture 20mm F2 DG DN Contemporary wide-angle lens for both E-mount and L-mount systems.

This is a compact full frame prime lens for mirrorless cameras and is the seventh lens in Sigma’s fast-growing I-series lens line, after the 90mm f2.8 DG DN. It is also the widest angle lens in the lineup to date, which may open up new photographic possibilities for I-series users.

The fact that the lens is available for both E-Mount and L-Mount systems means it is compatible with Sony, Leica, Panasonic LUMIX and Sigma cameras, including the E-Mount Sony Alpha A7 IV and the L-Mount Panasonic Lumix S5 and Sigma fp L to name a few.

The lens weighs 370g and is 72.4mm long (L-Mount version), which makes it an easily transportable optic. The 20mm focal length can be used for landscapes, wide-angle portraits, weddings and interiors.

The latest Sigma prime is also said to be “particularly well-suited for astrophotography due to its very well-controlled sagittal coma thrust.”

The lens has a UK SRP of £649.99 and will go on sale from 25th February 2022.

I series | Premium Compact Primes for Mirrorless Users

New optical performance standards for the Contemporary line

Exceptional I-Series build quality with a compact form factor

UK PRS: £649.99 Date of sale: February 25, 2022

Introducing the all new 20mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary of SIGMA. This ultra-compact, wide-aperture lens for both E-mount and L-mount systems is a game-changer for mirrorless users who need sharp, wide-angle optics that won’t weigh them down.

This high-end portable full-frame compact lens for mirrorless cameras is the seventh lens in SIGMA’s fast-growing I-series lineup, combining a bright F2 maximum aperture, ultra-wide 20mm focal length and stunning optical performance. It’s also the widest lens in the lineup to date, opening up new photographic possibilities for I-series users.

Side view of Sigma 20mm F2 DG DN lens with AF/MF switch shown

The lens features an exceptionally small form factor, weighing 370g and being just 72.4mm long*, making it a very practical optic and portable enough for everyday shooting. It is ideal for landscapes, wide-angle portraits, weddings and interiors, and is particularly well suited to astrophotography thanks to its very well controlled sagittal coma flare. This is the fourth lens in the I-series with an F2 aperture, joining a 24mm, 35mm and 65mm, which together form a well-matched set of lenses for photographers who need both performance and portability in their backpack. Remarkably, the 20mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary is nearly identical in size and weight to the SIGMA 24mm F2 I series. Sleek, all-metal design with magnetic I-series lens cap, manual aperture ring and exceptional build quality make this lens a very intuitive and satisfying experience.

Main characteristics

I series | ‘Premium Compact Primes’ for mirrorless users

The SIGMA I series includes full-frame compatible lenses that offer new value to mirrorless systems. The combination of superb optical performance with a level of compactness perfectly suited to modern mirrorless cameras offers new opportunities for the perfect shot. SIGMA realizes that in today’s world we have a wide range of camera choices, especially with the increase in cell phones. But with many photographers looking for something more than something that simply captures images when they choose to own a camera and a lens, I-series lenses offer the ultimate combination of superb optical performance, exceptional user-friendliness and a compact format. SIGMA’s excellence in development and production technologies has been building since our inception in 1961 and has grown increasingly sophisticated with the introduction of the SIGMA Global Vision brand in 2012. Based on this, SIGMA has granted particular attention to the quality of a product, the feeling of using it and the pleasure of owning it. This is how the I series was born.

New optical performance standards for the contemporary line

The 20mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary achieves the highest level of optical performance even at wide apertures, from the center of the image to the periphery. Based on the latest optical design technology, the lens construction includes three high precision molded glass aspherical lens elements, one SLD element and one FLD element to suppress a range of optical aberrations. The result is crisp, clear images even in the extreme corners of the frame. By focusing on removing the sagittal coma thrust, which is difficult to correct in post-processing, an accurate reproduction of very bright points of light was achieved. This provides extremely detailed results across the entire image, which is especially important for night sky photography.

The lens’ advanced optical design, along with its Super Multi-Layer Coating and Nano Porous Coating (NPC), ensures minimal flare and ghosting, even when shooting in bright light sources. This makes it much easier to photograph backlit subjects while achieving punchy, high-contrast results.

Exceptional I-Series build quality with a compact form factor

All I-series lenses feature all-metal construction. The precision cut aluminum parts not only give the barrel a sleek and stylish finish, but provide superb durability which enhances the quality of the whole product. Metallic materials are also used in the internal structures which slide together with the operating ring for added strength. These high-precision components made with SIGMA’s state-of-the-art metalworking technology are also used in SIGMA’s CINE LENS range for professional filmmakers and provide a tactile and ergonomic feel that makes using the lens a pleasure.

The cover ring between the focus ring and the aperture ring has a hair treatment which is also used for the rear cylinder of the Art line. This coating functions as a grip for the fingers when attaching or removing the lens.

As new iPhone models come out, it’s no surprise that there’s an abundance of exciting new iPhone accessories to follow. As our phones double as wallets, cameras and navigation systems, there is a wide range of iPhone technologies available to help your phone perform its many functions to the highest standards. To help you outfit your iPhone with the coolest gadgets, we’ve rounded up the best iPhone accessories, from the most functional and practical to the most fun.

We’ve included a mix of handy iPhone technologies, including sleek card holders, magnetic phone holders, and gaming devices, to make your day go even easier!

The best iPhone accessories for 2022

Belkin MagSafe Car Phone Holder

Since we often rely on our phones to get from A to B, investing in a phone holder for your car is a wise decision. This Belkin phone holder clips onto your car’s air vent so your phone can stay in a prime position while you’re driving. Thanks to the magnetic design, if you have a MagSafe-enabled iPhone, you can simply place your phone on the charger and it should stay in place. This avoids the use of delicate and unreliable clips. The device also works with MagSafe phone cases, which is a bonus.

You can use the phone holder in portrait and landscape mode, and there’s a handy cable management system that keeps your cable in an optimal charging position so you can charge your phone while you drive.

Joby GripTight ONE Tripod

Black flexible tripod with phone holder

As we play with zooms, photography styles and portrait modes, we often promote ourselves from amateur to professional photographers thanks to the impressive camera technology of the iPhone. If you’re looking for an iPhone camera to further your skills, this flexible tripod will definitely do the trick. The versatile tripod holds your phone in place while you take a photo, making group shots that much easier. You can also use it as a selfie stick as the legs can be used as a handle, which is ideal for vloggers and content creators. Thanks to the flexible, wrap-around feet, you can even hang your phone from a tree if you wish.

It’s worth noting that this device works with a range of smart phones, so you don’t need to be an iPhone user to experiment with your snaps.

Belkin face tracking phone holder

Belkin Face Tracking Phone Holder

Looking to take your Zoom calls and workout blogs to the next level? This phone mount from Belkin uses face tracking technology to track your movements as you film yourself, so you’re always the star of the show. The bracket can rotate 360° and you can also adjust the angle.

Thanks to MagSafe technology, your iPhone 12 can simply snap on, so there’s no need for clamps and clips.

Apple AirPods Max

Apple Airpods Max sky blue

The setup process for pairing these headphones to your iPhone couldn’t be easier, so it’s an ideal iPhone companion. If you’re a movie buff, you’ll love the spatial audio feature that takes movie watching to a whole new level. They’re also well-designed with a knitted mesh canopy and memory foam ear cushions, making them a pleasure to wear for long periods of time.

It’s a great choice if you want to block everything out (literally thanks to the noise canceling feature) and enjoy your favorite playlist. When you want to connect to your environment, just enable transparency mode.

Razer Kishi Gamepad

Razer Kishi

This funky gadget lets you enhance your gaming experience by turning your iPhone into a gaming console. It’s designed to enhance your control while gaming with a comfortable grip and clickable thumbsticks. The device connects to your iPhone via the Lightning port and should fit most models. So if you find it hard to part with your Xbox when you leave the house, now you can have a mini game console in your pocket.

Anker PowerLine III Flow

Lilac phone charging cable

If you’re fed up with frayed and misplaced iPhone charging cables, these brightly colored Anker cables might be an easy fix. They have a flexible and durable design to handle everyday use. Their surprisingly soft texture sets them apart from other cables, and they come with a handy strap so you can keep them neat, tidy, and tangle-free. There are many colors to choose from, including yellow, pink, green, and white.

For more charging tech, take a look at the best power banks and portable chargers.

Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 Wireless Charger

3 in 1 black charger for iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch

This Belkin 3-in-1 device lets you charge your iPhone 12, Apple Watch, and AirPods at the same time, so you can keep all your gadgets powered. The 15W charger uses MagSafe technology so you can simply place your phone in the cradle for a magnetic, wireless connection. It looks quite elegant and unique, and it would work well as a bedside table accessory.

Bellroy 3 Card Phone Case

yellow phone case

Phone cases can get tired and damaged after a while, so it’s nice to give your iPhone a fresh look once in a while. This bold yellow leather design is both useful and stylish. There’s room for three cards and the magnetic closure keeps them securely in place. We like the subtlety of this design, as it keeps your valuables accessible but hidden, rather than functioning as a bulky, bulky wallet strapped to the back of your phone.

There’s also a sneaky spare SIM card slot, so you can store an extra SIM card, which is a handy feature for frequent travellers. There are many sizes to choose from, from SE to 13 Pro Max.
