Spring registered sex offender Baloch Yousef handcuffed in front of ABC13 cameras after alleged indecent assault on Planet Fitness
SPRING, Texas (KTRK) — A registered sex offender accused of attacking and pulling down a woman’s shorts in a gym’s parking lot has been posted $100 bond.
Eyewitness News cameras were present when Baloch Yousef was handcuffed and taken into custody on Friday afternoon.
The 33-year-old man was charged with indecent assault. As Yousef was placed inside a police car, he told ABC13 reporter Pooja Lodhia that he had not assaulted anyone.
“These criminals and predators, they don’t care if you’re a victim,” said Sommer Day, the victim. “If you have a victim mentality, you will lose.”
Day said she was about 100 feet from the front door of Planet Fitness in the spring when Yousef allegedly attacked.
It happened around 8:20 a.m. on Friday, September 16.
“He’s like, ‘Hey.’ He came straight to me, put his hands on my hips and started pulling my pants down. Immediately. And I could only grab one side of my pants to hold them in place, and the other side , he managed to get towards my thigh,” Day said.
But Day fought back and knocked Yousef to the ground.
“My automatic reaction is, ‘I’m going to have him filmed. I’m not going to let him get away with this.’ I just pulled out my camera, opened the door to Planet Fitness and started filming it,” Day said.
When the deputy gendarmes of compound 4 saw the video, they knew who it was.
Yousef is a convicted sex offender who lives about half a mile from the gymnasium.
He had been convicted of aggravated robbery, injury to a child and prostitution of a child under 18.
“My first instinct was, ‘I hope I don’t hurt his mother.’ He doesn’t seem to be in his right mind, but to know he has a pattern of this behavior he has to be off the streets,” Day said. “I have another vision of where he needs to be right now.”
Prior to his arrest, Yousef was given an unsecured bond of $100 for the misdemeanor charge. This means he doesn’t have to pay any money to be released from prison. He will only have to sign a document, despite his previous convictions.
