PDQ Labels took their first steps in digital printing by installing a new Screen L350UV inkjet press from Jet Technologies, and saw their turnaround times cut from two weeks to two days.
The company claims that the Screen L350UV system has enabled PDQ to move away from addiction to flexo printing, and claims that the L350UV system has enabled PDQ to digitally perform 90% of its print jobs.
âAfter experiencing such a high level of demand over the past year due to pressures from Covid-19 – particularly from our grocery and chemical industry customers – it was clear that we needed to a digital overhaul, âPaul Bentham, Managing Director, told PDQ Labels. âWe needed a digital printer that could process orders in the fastest, most efficient and cost effective manner possible. The L350UV system allows us to print the equivalent of two weeks of labeling in just one to two days, compared to traditional printing methods.
“The system caters for much larger product volumes as well, with the added flexibility to digitally adjust or change label designs, brand or ingredients immediately upon processing.”

Based in Ingleburn, NSW, the company has been in existence for 45 years and works with the full range of clients, from small businesses to mid-size businesses to large multinationals.
Bentham said: âSince installing and using the L350UV system, it has been clearly established that digital is definitely the best way forward for us. We are now able not only to dramatically increase our productivity rates, but also have the ability to modify large volumes of product labels at the request of our customers. Without that kind of flexibility, adjustments previously meant starting from scratch with new printing plates and wasting large volumes of labels in the process. This means that there is now less waste and less money spent on unnecessary materials. “
With continued support from Jet Technologies and Screen, including technicians and internal services to ensure the system is operating at its peak, PDQ says its deployment of the L350UV has allowed it to take the first step in the digital space while efficiently streamlining printing. operations.
âWith the steady growth in labeling expected to continue, UV digital printing has quickly become the latest trend to increase productivity and streamline large print jobs,â said David Reece, Director of Sales, APAC, at Jet Technologies. âThe L350UV is one of the most modern and innovative label printers on the market, making it the ideal solution for anyone looking to go digital, and we are extremely pleased that PDQ can now use the system. to innovate its own operations. going digital.
