Oppo A16 was launched in Indonesia as a budget successor offering to Oppo A15 from October last year. The phone has thin bezels on the side and a thick chin. It comes with a notched screen and triple rear camera setup. Oppo A16 is offered in three colors and a single RAM + storage configuration. The phone packs a large 5,000mAh battery and includes a Super Night Sleep mode to further reduce power consumption.

Oppo A16 is priced at IDR 1,999,000 (around Rs 10,300) for the 3GB + 32GB storage model alone. It comes in Crystal Black, Pearl Blue and Space Silver colors. The phone is on sale in Indonesia and Oppo has yet to share any information on international availability.

Oppo A16 is running ColorOS 11.1. It has a 6.52-inch HD + display (720 x 1600 pixels) with a refresh rate of 60 Hz, a touch sampling rate of 60 Hz, a pixel density of 269 ppi and a maximum brightness of 480 nits. It has an 88.7% screen-to-body ratio and a 1500: 1 contrast ratio. Under the hood, Oppo A16 contains the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, paired with the IMG GE8320 GPU, 3 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage expandable via a microSD card.
For photos and videos, the phone comes with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel main sensor with an f / 2.2 lens, a 2-megapixel macro shooter with an f / 2.4 aperture, and a mono sensor of 2 megapixels with an f / 2.4 lens. Up front, the Oppo A16 has an 8-megapixel sensor with an f / 2.0 lens for selfies and video calls.
Connectivity options include 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The sensors on board the Oppo A16 include a geomagnetic sensor, an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer and a gravity sensor. There is a side fingerprint scanner as well as face unlock support. The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery. Oppo A16 measures 163.8×75.6×8.4mm and weighs 190 grams.
