GuruShots: winning photographs of the Perfect Portraits competition

Considered the best photo game in the world, GuruShots is an online platform that offers a fun and structured way to showcase your images while gaining global exposure for your work.

By taking part in epic challenges against millions of photographers, you can get instant commentary of over three billion monthly votes and increase your Beginner Rankings to achieve ultimate Guru status (and bragging rights).

GuruShots challenges are voted on by platform gurus and the community at large, and there is a new challenge every day. Winners can receive prizes from GuruShots sponsors such as Adorama, Kodak, Lowepro and Lensbaby.

For the Perfect Portraits competition, the goal was to capture the true character of the subject with your photography skills – and to capture them the way you did!

The winning images did not disappoint, with the shortlisted entries comprising the stunning use of golden light (19), as well as muted lighting (13) and soft focus effects (09). We highly recommend that you scroll through all of the images – they show a wide range of subjects and creative camera techniques!

The top 20 images were published in Photography Week magazine, and we are happy to feature these images below, along with the rest of the most featured photographs in the gallery that follows.
