Color-Logic is gaining popularity among RIP developers

The importance and usefulness of Color-Logic in the printing industry is widely recognized by RIP (Raster Image Processor) developers as the preferred method of producing metallic images and special effects.

Commenting on the issue, Mark Geeves, Director of Sales and Marketing for Color-Logic, said, “In digital printing, a RIP serves as the interface between the digital front end (DFE) and the print engine. Due to the differences between print engines and DFEs, every digital press installation requires a specially designed RIP to interface between the DFE and the print engine being used.

Geeves said that by mid-2022 specific features had been made available by almost all RIP manufacturers to allow printers to use Color-Logic in their workflows. “The fact that these RIP developers have made Color-Logic available to users of nearly every digital press and printer manufacturer worldwide is a testament to the widespread popularity of the Color-Logic metallic color system.

Geeves continued, “RIP developers providing a specific connection for the Color-Logic system now include Caldera, CGS, ColorGate, Compose, EFI, Ergosoft, Equios, Global Graphics, GMG, Heidelberg Versafire, Onyx, RTI-RIP, SAI, Wasatch and Xitron. All of these manufacturers offer Color-Logic connectivity to most digital presses and printers worldwide. »

Geeves said it works closely with these and other manufacturers providing equipment capable of printing metals using silver inks or toners on conventional substrates as well as those producing images with white ink or toner on metallic substrates. “More than 75 digital presses and printers worldwide use Color-Logic to produce the shimmering metals so popular with brands and commercial customers.”

The company develops color communication systems and software toolsets for a variety of special effects printing applications. It offers brand owners, product managers, businesses and their advertising agencies the ability to differentiate themselves and their customers through a simple print production process that delivers dramatic results.

Color-Logic decorative effects utilize existing printer and designer workflows, producing dynamic results without the use of special equipment. The company supports the value of print and works with designers and printers to improve their print materials.

The Covid-19 pandemic led to the nationwide lockdown on March 25, 2020. It will be two years tomorrow as I write this. What have we learned during this time? Perhaps the sense of resilience as small businesses like ours have had to rely on our resources and the forbearance of our employees as we struggled to produce our business platforms.

The printing and packaging industries have been lucky, although the commercial printing industry has yet to recover. We learned about the digital transformation affecting commercial printing and packaging. Ultimately, digital will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is an advanced technology that will only increase the demand for printing for the foreseeable future.

Web analytics show that we now have readership in North America and Europe among the 90 countries where our five platforms are present. Our traffic, which more than doubled in 2020, sometimes increased by another 50% in 2021. And advertising, which had collapsed in 2020 and 2021, began to come back in January 2022.

As the economy approaches real growth with irregularities and shortages, we look forward to the PrintPack India exhibition in Greater Noida. We are again mandated to produce the Show Daily over the five days of the show from May 26 to 30, 2022.

Now is a good time to support our high-impact reporting and authoritative, technical information with some of the best correspondents in the industry. Readers can contribute to Packaging South Asia’s balanced industry journalism and help support us by subscribing.
