The Poudre River Public Library District is such an important resource to the Fort Collins community in many ways.
Along with countless books, audiobooks, and DVDs, the library also allows cardholders to view a variety of other gadgets and items. Here are 7 things you might not know available for booking at Poudre Libraries, but visit them in person or online to see what else they have to offer.
Looking for something fun to do on a day when you get stuck inside? The library has several puzzles, with various themes and difficulty.
The library can open your eyes to a new hobby, like teaching you to crochet. The kit can be viewed for periods of three weeks and includes several instruction books, a hook and yarn.
Library members can take advantage of the ability to view valuable resources, such as the GoPro HERO, along with all of its necessary accessories. This includes the carrying case, battery charger with an extra battery, chest and head strap holder, rotating wrist strap, portable monopod, flexible octopus holder and instructions. Take it with you on your next adventure!
Use your library card to find everything you need for a fun karaoke experience. The system comes with two microphones, an RCA AUX-in cable, a power adapter, a remote control, instructions, four audio CDs and 2 MP3G discs. The music features traditional and popular karaoke songs in English and Spanish.
Another chance to discover a new talent, or for music lovers wishing to play a few jams, the Poudre Library has a Kmise soprano ukulele in circulation. The instrument comes with a bag, strap, digital electronic tuner, replacement strings and a “Ukulele Quick Start Guide”.
Planning on baking for a special occasion or an upcoming vacation? The library has got you covered with cake pans for many different holidays, such as clovers, Christmas trees, pumpkins, and hearts. If you’re feeling really creative, they also have bundt and muffin tins, as well as pirate ship and car designs.
Prepare for the ultimate stargazing night with the Powder Library. For starters, cardholders can check out a telescope that contains two magnifying eyepieces, a folding tripod, an instruction manual, a carrying case, and a red light flashlight. The telescope comes with two books, “50 things to do with a telescope: a young astronomer’s guide” and “50 things to do with a small telescope”. Separately, the Star Finder kit can be booked, which includes a phosphorescent night sky observation card, a red light flashlight, a star and constellation pronunciation guide, a star guide card (northern hemisphere) and the book “Star Finder !: A Step-by-Step Guide to the Night Sky.”
